Domestic Violence ASsessments

Nature & Purpose of Assessment

Periodically Paradigm Counseling, LLC receives requests to complete a comprehensive Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) / Domestic and Family Abuse Risk Assessment. This request is typically made by community providers, therapists, attorneys or other Court Agents. It is to be completed by Paradigm Counseling in order to support the goals for client care or to provide supplemental information in support of recommendations being made by providers or the Courts.

The active assessment process includes comprehensive documentation review when provided, face to face virtual meetings with the client, collateral communication when requested, as well as the administration of evidence-based risk assessments. The completed written assessment will include a clinical interpretation of psychological, social and behavioral factors impacting a client or family system, and can provide a detailing of potential risk factors associated with the presence or use of abusive behaviors.

The assessment is not diagnostic, and does not provide treatment planning. The assessment may include potential service recommendations if indicated or appropriate to the needs of the particular assessment requested.

The assessment CANNOT predict violence nor guarantee the absence of future use of violence or abuse in intimate or family relationships.
